The board helps you neatly set up and show your project visually. It's great for any type of project, whether it's personal, work-related, sports, a diet plan, or planning your career. Each board column is like a small list of tasks that are easy to see and review together.
The board works well for projects that:
  • have clear steps, like a 'Home Renovation' project with steps such as 'Inspiration', 'Design', 'Planning', 'Actual Work', and 'Final Touches'
  • involve different kinds of tasks, like a 'Learn English' project with categories like 'Teacher Lessons', 'Homework', 'TV Shows', and 'Books'
  • require sorting tasks by importance, like making columns for 'Important', 'Urgent', 'First Priority', and 'Work Order'
  • follow a business process, like many IT projects with stages like 'Draft', 'Ready to Start', 'In Progress', 'Testing', 'Review', and 'Completed'
In SAU, the board lets you easily move tasks where they need to go, change or add columns as you like, and see everything clearly to finish your project successfully.
Statuses or columns on the Board view allow you to group project tasks by a certain characteristic. This can be a stage of execution ("In Progress," "Doing," "Done," "Accepted"), grouping by content ("Books," "Videos," "Audio") or division into major blocks ("Work," "Study," "Sports"). Thus, it is always visible on the project board how tasks are being executed and what the overall state of the project is.
Each task is displayed as a separate row or pane in the view. The task always has a name and a checkbox to quickly mark it as completed. The color of the checkbox (or the circle) indicates the current status of the task. If the colour is red, the task has not been completed on time and needs attention. Click on the task name to open its full task card.
The line with the task also shows its due date. You can easily change the date by clicking on it and selecting another day in the calendar that opens.
To the right of the task name you can see a picture of the task's assignee. You can (almost always) change that too: a click on the picture will show the list of the project's team.
If the task has attachments, checklists, descriptions, etc., the corresponding icons will also be displayed here.
The task bar in most views displays icons that show whether the task has additional information or certain special properties:
There are links or files attached to the task. If you hover the cursor over this icon, the number of attachments will be displayed. If you click this icon, the task card will open on the attachments tab.
There is a checklist in the task. If you hover the cursor over this icon, the number of items in the checklist will be displayed. If you click this icon, the task card will be opened on the checklist tab.
The task has a description. If you click this icon, the task card will be opened on the description tab.
The task is recurring. If you tick such a task in the view as completed, it will be considered as completed only for today.
There is a chat in the task. The red dot next to this icon means that there are new unread messages.
There is a chat in the task, but notifications are disabled.
Each task in SAU has a specific indicator that allows you to quickly see the status of the task. The indicators take into account the deadline and the completion of the task. If the deadline for a task is today, the task is not considered overdue. If a future task is completed, it will be highlighted in green and will be considered completed. All indicators are updated on the fly and always show the actual information.
the task is marked as completed.
the task is marked as completed, but the deadline has not yet arrived.
the task is overdue: the due date has arrived, but the task is still not marked as completed.
Tasks that are displayed as red blocks on dashboards or highlighted in red in other views require attention and completion.
In every view, the field for selecting the task's due date and the task's checkbox are highlighted in a certain color: grey, red or green. This color corresponds to the task indicators and shows its current status. Of course, you should pay attention to all tasks marked in red, because they have not been completed on time.
Tasks are displayed in the same order in which they were added to the project. Completed tasks are displayed in the order in which they were completed.
You can change the order of both active and completed tasks. Simply click on the task bar (without hitting the text and buttons) and hold down for 2 seconds, then you will be able to move the task up or down, between columns and groups.
Completed tasks are always moved to the bottom of the task list. They are displayed in order of completion, i.e. the most recently completed tasks are at the top of the list. You can manually move such tasks within the completed list by pressing and holding the task bar for 2 seconds.
If you select "Don't show completed tasks" in the project, you can still view all completed tasks by pressing the "Show completed" button. They will be displayed at the bottom of the list.
A task can be completed with a single click in any view. All you have to do is click on the circle to the left of the task and it will be marked as complete!
The task's completion status can be reversed with a single click. Find a completed task in any view — in a ToDo list, on the Dashboard, through search, etc. Then just click on the check mark to the left of the task and it will become active again!
Completing a recurring task is no different from completing normal tasks — you can quickly do it in any view (not just in the tracker) or in the lists on your personal dashboard. To mark its completion, click on the circle to the left of the task and it will be marked as complete for the day!
Set a deadline with a single click. In any view, in the lists on the personal dashboard, even in the search view, you can always quickly pick a due date for a task (or remove it, or change it). To do this, click on the calendar or on the date under the task name and select the desired date from the calendar. You can do it even faster by picking one of the presets: Today, Tomorrow, Next Friday, etc.
You can pick an assignee in two clicks. In any view, you can quickly change the assignee of a task. All you have to do is click on the circle to the right of the task (there may be a user photo there) and select an assignee.
You can filter the project's tasks by status, due date, and assignee. Filters inside the view allow you to work with only the tasks you need. We have kept the most popular filters:
  • All — shows all tasks in the project
  • Active (only grey tasks remain — tasks without a date or with a due date today or later)
  • Done (only green tasks remain — all tasks with a checkmark)
  • Overdue (only red tasks remain — all uncompleted tasks past their due date)
  • Without Deadline
  • Today (all tasks due today)
  • Next 7 Days (all tasks due within the next 7 days)
  • My Tasks (tasks where you are the assignee)
  • Not My Tasks (tasks with no assignee or an assignee who is not you)
After applying a filter, you cannot move tasks in the list. To change the order, select the 'All' filter.
  1. Open the project panel and select a project
  2. Open the project and click Filter placed on the right under the task creation panel
  3. Choose one filter from the dropdown menu to leave only appropriate tasks
  4. To cancel the filtration, click 'By default'
If done tasks are hidden, they won't appear in the filter results. To enable search through the done tasks, make them visible using the appropriate button at the end of the task list.
To find a task inside the projects (any view) use the search button in the right corner near the project name.
  1. Open the project panel and select a project
  2. Open the project and click the search button to the right under the task creation panel
  3. In the search field that appears, type part of the task name – only tasks matching your search will be displayed on the screen
  4. To show all tasks again, click 'Cancel'
If done tasks are hidden, they won't appear in the search results. To enable search through the done tasks, make them visible using the appropriate button at the end of the task list.
Important! You can't change the order of tasks in the search results. To rearrange tasks, first, cancel the search.
You can temporarily reorder tasks inside your project by using the 'Sort' button in almost all views. This allows you to quickly arrange tasks in order based on certain criteria. Available sorting options include:
  • By status (done, overdue, in progress)
  • By task name
  • By due date
  • By assignee
  • By the number of attached files and links
After you apply a sort, you won't be able to move tasks around in the list. To change the order, select the 'By default' sort option.
  1. Open the project panel and select a project
  2. Open the project and click Order placed in the right corner under the task creation panel
  3. In the dropdown menu, select a sorting parameter: tasks will be sorted in descending order based on that parameter
  4. Click on the parameter in the dropdown menu again to arrange the tasks in reverse - ascending - order
If done tasks are hidden in the project, they will also be hidden when sorting. Show them if necessary (using the button at the end of the task list) and repeat the sorting.
A task cover is a visual representation of a task on the SAU.app platform. You can select a cover within the task card. Remember, the task cover is only displayed in the "Board" view.
Using task covers on the board can be particularly handy in various scenarios. For instance:
Creating mood boards
Interior design planning
Interface development
Preparing for photo shoots
Working on art projects
And more!
To set a cover for your task:
  1. Open the Projects panel and select a project
  2. Find the task and click on it's name. The task card will open
  3. Go to tab
  4. Click Choose cover on the blue panel and choose the image from the list of attached media. If there are no pictures in the list, make sure that image files are attached to the task (attachments should be added as files, not links).
  5. Click "Save"
To see the cover of a task, you need to open the project in the 'Board' view.
  1. Open the project panel and select a project
  2. Choose the 'Board' view under the project name
  3. Find the task you're looking for. Its cover will be displayed under the task's name
